Hi! My name is Cristin. I started this blog as a place to reflect on my experiences as a special needs parent and hear from others about theirs.
My son was born in 2002 with a complicated rare genetic syndrome. After spending years feeling overwhelmed and anxious, I was lucky enough to meet other parents who helped me see that it was possible to not just cope — but actually thrive.
Once I learned to navigate and coordinate care for my son with complex needs in Boston, Massachusetts, I felt called to use my experience to make things better for others. I’ve served in leadership roles that support and advise partnerships between patients, their families and health care professionals in the design, implementation and evaluation of health care systems.
In 2013 I moved from Massachusetts with my family to Stockholm, Sweden. I continue my work on improving health care through innovative partnerships.
I welcome you to join in an on-going conversation about collaborating for systems change by subscribing to this blog, in which I write regularly about the experience of living in a complex special needs family or by connecting on Twitter @cristin_lind. For a longer CV, feel free to find me on LinkedIn.
